Abstract :
Abstract: The present study, titled Factors Influencing Admission to Farhangian Univer-sity and the Teaching Profession: A Case Study of Student-Teachers in Khorasan Razavi Province, investigated 35 student-teachers (17 men and 18 women) from various Farhangian University campuses in Khorasan Razavi. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and a case study method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, which continued until theoretical saturation was achieved. The study population included all student-teachers in Farhangian University campuses across Khorasan Razavi. Purposeful sampling based on criteria was employed, and sampling continued until saturation. The coding process began with open codes and continued until the main themes and the final concept were identified. Data analysis was carried out using Diekelmann et al.’s seven-step method, resulting in five main themes and thirteen subthemes. The analysis of interview data led to the extraction of five main themes and thirteen sub-themes. The results indicate that external motivations among students outweighed their internal and altruistic motivations when choosing the teaching profession and entering Farhangian University. It is recommended that Farhangian University implement strategies to strengthen internal and altruistic motivations to reduce the dominance of external incentives in this context.
